Mundo Exchange is a non governmental organization based in Oregon currently seeking 501 c3 status with volunteer projects in Thailand and Guatemala. Thai-Experience.org is our website for volunteering in Thailand.
In Thailand MundoExchange works with Laekplian Lokgatat, a Thai Association. MundoExchange is funding this association and helping to train their members.
Our network is constantly growing and reaching out to the neighboring countries. We support local organizations and projects because we believe strongly that this is the best way to enable them to help themselves in the future.
Coming from different cultural backgrounds, tolerance and curiosity for different frames of reference are our strength. We are not bound by any religion, ideology or political party as this would limit our work. We work in favor of people with less opportunities, mainly poor children, disabled people and village women.
Our idea is to enable people from all over the world to get in touch with others. To meet, share experiences and help each other. By providing this basis we create a win-win situation for all parties involved.
There are many people with many talents, special knowledge and valuable experiences willing to share while others are in need of some support. We help them find each other.
The idea was born 2002 when Sabine Lindemann, a volunteer in projects in Australia, Thailand and Germany met Kanokwon Sookserm. Both were involved in volunteer activities and convinced that volunteering is a great opportunity, for volunteers in their personal development and also locals by receiving support and attention from the outside world.
In 2006 we started to look for new partners. We finally found them in MundoExchange, an association founded in the USA and just starting to work in Thailand. MundoExchange works also in other countries and instead of running two seperate organizations in Thailand we made Thai-Experience.org the Thailand website of MundoExchange.
